HI JAC commissioned us to create a short video for their Recycled Plastic Pet Leashes. These eco-friendly, design-forward pet leads are the brainchild of the animal lovers at HI JAC. Designed by People & Things with a comfy, ergonomic handle, the leads are made using 100% recycled shampoo and conditioner bottles — locally sourced through Sustainable Salons. Each lead is produced in small batches by the incredible team at Defy Designs, using a vibrant mix of colours that give a second life to plastic waste.

With such a thoughtful impact journey, HI JAC approached us to help bring their story to life. They wanted to showcase the full cycle — from salon to pet park — and feature as many pets and people as possible along the way.

We created a playful animated video packed with illustrated portraits of every person, pup, and location involved, all brought to life in HI JAC’s gorgeous limited colour palette. To wrap things up, we animated their logo — complete with their signature little black dog digging up a bone and flipping it into their mouth to reveal the brand.
