Ash Noir
Sprout & Kernal
We were commissioned to create a short promotional video for Sprout & Kernel (now Blue Mountains Creamery) to launch their striking new vegan cheese: Ash Noir.
The creative brief called for a moody, gothic aesthetic to echo the bold, black exterior of the product. We leaned into this visual direction with a mixed media approach that layered texture, shadow, and contrast to evoke mystery and indulgence.
The real cheese was stop-motion animated on a green screen set, allowing us to isolate and manipulate the product in dramatic ways. We combined this with animated gothic imagery—sourced from stock archives and composited in After Effects—to create an atmospheric world around the cheese.
The result is a dark and elegant mini-campaign that reflects the bold flavour and visual impact of Ash Noir.
