Little Piece of Hair is the sophomore music video collaboration between Knuckles Animation Studio and Century Egg. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was produced entirely remotely, with a fully animated approach developed and delivered in-house at Knuckles Studio in Sydney, despite collaborators working across multiple hemispheres.

With live-action production off the table, animation provided the flexibility to continue creative collaboration while embracing a tactile, handmade aesthetic. The design direction took inspiration from the album artwork for Little Piece of Hair, painted by lead singer Shane Song. Knuckles reinterpreted the illustrated character in an amigurumi style — drawing on the Japanese art of crocheting soft, characterful yarn figures — to create a warm, playful visual world that complemented the tone of the track.

The video was produced in close collaboration with the band, with additional support from their label, .Forward Music Group. Together, we developed a distinctive animated piece that expanded the visual identity of the release while translating the intimacy and charm of the original artwork into motion
