A recycled plastic stop motion video installation

A recycled plastic stop motion video installation

Curated by Elizabeth West, the Puzzle Project is a digital public art project that lives on Instagram. It aims to celebrates collaboration with projects that use and discuss the plastic issue.

Fellow Woodburn resident Elizabeth approached us to create a series of stop motion animations using found plastics only. The plastics included coffee cups, bubble wrap, packaging straps and container lids. We animated each plastic material using stop motion on a green screen background, then further manipulated the animations digitally using repetition and multiplication in Aftereffect. The animations were scored with original sound created by Noah Siegel. The four animations were debuted at the Woodburn Group Exhibition for Art Month 2021.

This project was made possible by support provided by a creative fellowship from City of Sydney’s COVID Relief Funding.
